About The Position

As a full-time Electrician at the Florida Panthers Ice Den, you'll play a key role in maintaining the electrical systems that keep our facility safe and running at its best — from ice rink operations and refrigeration support to lighting, HVAC-related electrical work, and general building maintenance. You'll work under the direction of the Operations Manager as part of a skilled facilities team that takes pride in delivering a top-tier experience for every skater, athlete, and guest who walks through our doors. This role is ideal for a licensed electrician — or someone actively working toward their license — looking to build experience in a high-energy sports and entertainment environment. Safety is the foundation of everything we do, and the right candidate will bring that mindset to every shift.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Electrician license required in the state of practice
  • 3–5 years of hands-on electrical experience in a commercial or large-venue environment
  • Completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program
  • Valid driver's license in the state of practice
  • Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable building regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics
  • Proficient with test meters and electrical diagnostic equipment
  • Strong attention to detail, personal accountability, and a safety-first mindset
  • Must be able to distinguish color-coded wiring (color vision required)
  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding
  • Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an electrician program at a technical or trade school
  • Experience in a sports and entertainment venue, arena, or large-scale commercial facility
  • Familiarity with low-voltage systems, lighting controls, and building automation
  • Experience with motor starters, VFDs, and related industrial electrical components
  • Experience with HVAC-related electrical systems

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems throughout the facility
  • Install and terminate low-voltage wiring including data, communications, and control circuits
  • Install and service safety and distribution components: switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels, and related equipment
  • Prepare and assemble conduit runs and pull wiring through them
  • Install circuit boards, outlets, motor starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other electrical equipment
  • Repair and replace electrical wiring, fixtures, and components as directed
  • Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components for wear, damage, or code compliance issues
  • Troubleshoot commercial electrical equipment and systems using appropriate testing devices and diagnostic tools
  • Perform circuit breaker corrective maintenance and routine preventative maintenance on electrical systems
  • Adhere strictly to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable state and local building regulations
  • Identify and report safety hazards promptly; maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment at all times
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to prepare for and execute project work
  • Maintain working knowledge of HVAC systems and their interface with electrical infrastructure
  • Take accurate inventory of tools and supplies; report shortages to supervision
  • Coordinate with other trades, vendors, and team members to support event setups and facility projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager
