About The Position

The Lead HVAC Technician oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across residential, commercial, or institutional facilities. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high-quality service delivery and team performance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED – Minimum baseline for entry into the field.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (Section 608) – Required for handling refrigerants.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree in Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration or Environmental Control Technologies – Preferred by many employers for advanced roles.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical construction tasks, including the installation of electrical components and equipment, such as wiring, switches, and conduits, and terminating cables; install wiring and lighting systems.
  • Perform electrical installation in new buildings, or in existing buildings or industry facilities.
  • Perform basic electrical maintenance tasks.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic functions.
  • Install components of electrical systems, such as circuit breakers, transformers, and other protective devices.
  • Install, test, and maintain electrical equipment, such as pumps, motors, generators, compressors, and transformers.
  • Install and repair electrical wiring.
  • Install and maintain lighting fixtures, lighting controls, and electrical systems.
  • Provide electrical engineering expertise regarding electrical installation, equipment, and systems.
  • Install and maintain electrical systems in industrial facilities.
  • Maintain electrical equipment and wiring, such as circuit breakers, transformers, switches, and lamps.
  • Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
