Electrician Technician (Journeyman License Required)
About The Position
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for corrective, predictive, preventative and installation work related to electrical equipment and electronic controls. This role involves performing routine electrical equipment service, setup, adjustment, and repairs/modifications on plant equipment and facilities. The technician will install, maintain, calibrate, and/or repair electrical and electronic equipment, including power distribution, motor control, and programmable control systems. They will also perform predictive and preventative tasks, identify and correct equipment defects, and work at heights. The position requires the ability to work in a manufacturing atmosphere safely, follow safety practices and regulations, and work with or without supervision to complete tasks on time. Collaboration with operations to repair or solve issues is also a key part of the role. The position may require overtime and involves working at heights, in pits, and confined spaces.
Requirements
- Journeyman License.
- Technical training
- 5 years of experience
- Proficient at using hand tools, portable electric tools & typical shop stationary equipment
- A strong commitment to working effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work in a manufacturing atmosphere safely and follow safety practices and regulations
- Ability to work with no supervision or in a team to complete work on time
- Ability to work with operations to repair or solve issues
- Ability to work at heights, in pits and confined spaces
- Ability to work overtime when required
Nice To Haves
- Hydraulic knowledge a plus
- PLC experience such as troubleshooting and programming
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Computer literate to plan work, identify parts and learn the computerized maintenance system for offering job materials or writing work orders
- Familiar with the principles behind hydraulic press.
- Familiar with repairing overhead cranes.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine electrical equipment service, setup, adjustment and repairs/modifications on plant equipment and facility.
- Install, maintain, calibrate, and/or repair and electrical and electronic equipment including, but not limited to: power distribution, motor control, programmable control systems.
- Perform predictive & preventative tasks associated with equipment.
- Identify and correct defects in equipment during maintenance checks.
- Other duties as assigned
