About The Position

As a 309-A Electrician and Site Supervisor (foreman), this position is responsible for projects that require a small to no crew; therefore, the expectation is to work full-time with the tools. As the point person for the on-site team, you will lead project completion with the project manager. You are responsible for coordinating operations and overseeing workers at construction sites. You must be well-organized and goal-oriented, and have extensive electrical knowledge in the ICI sectors (Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional). You can expect to work on projects such as restaurants, tenant fit-outs, retrofits, shutdowns, and existing facilities requiring renovations and modifications. Due to the size of the projects, a site supervisor often has multiple projects underway simultaneously. Requirements

  • 309-A Electrician (Construction & Maintenance) License in Good Standing with Skilled Trades Ontario
  • Ontario G License in Good Standing - must provide a clean 3-year Drivers' Abstract
  • Must pass a background screening, which includes reference checks and the provision of a clean criminal reference check

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience as an electrician in new & existing industrial, commercial and/or institutional sectors
  • Minimum two years of experience as an electrical site supervisor
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems such as power distribution, fire alarm, generators, and control lighting
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent knowledge and comprehension of the Electrical Safety Authority code, building code, and other related codes
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and best practices
  • Excellent critical thinking and solution-oriented

Responsibilities

  • Always represent Kraun with professionalism and consistently demonstrate SPARK values
  • Install wiring, conduits, raceways, cables, light fixtures, switches, receptacles, smoke detectors, and other electrical components
  • Install & energize equipment related to power distribution, such as panels, circuits, transformers, relays, etc.
  • Install life safety systems, including fire alarms, nurse calls, emergency lighting and generators
  • Connect electrical power to various devices and systems, including mechanical systems, alarm systems, etc.
  • Diagnose/Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and develop/implement practical solutions
  • Ensure all installations are in compliance with Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) codes and building codes
  • Install according to project documentation such as specifications, contracts and written scopes of work
  • Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations
  • Comply with all company policies, including not performing electrical work outside of Kraun Electric and your personal residence
  • Complete daily journals
  • Lead electricians & apprentices, providing training and guidance to ensure high-quality installations and personal development
  • Lead and enforce safety protocols and best practices through safety talks, site inspections, hazard analysis, and other documentation & communications
  • Drive project success by being well-organized and goal-oriented
  • Collaborate effectively with others (e.g. inspectors, Kraun team members, other trades, consultants)
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to uphold our commitment to excellence
  • Foster a positive work environment where team members feel safe, productive, and that they matter
  • Supervise sub-contractors
  • Ensure resources (labour, material, equipment, etc.) are adequate
  • Supervise the storage and use of machinery and equipment to ensure safe and proper utilization. Report any maintenance or repair requirements.
  • Supervise attendance & performance. Address concerns promptly, utilizing appropriate documentation.
  • Complete reports and submissions in a timely fashion with appropriate details (e.g. billing details, time cards, daily logs, safety documentation)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
