About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Electrician to join our team of engineers, technologists, and military veterans. The position is located at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops Island, VA. The SCSC is located on a barrier island on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and is a tenant of the NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility. SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors and supports the following functions: combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in at-sea exercises. SCSC provides a high-fidelity representative combat system of every ship in the AEGIS, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today and those planned in the future.

Requirements

Five years of demonstrated experience in the trade of an electrician.
Demonstrated experience in the installation and maintenance of industrial type of electrical distribution systems.
Must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance.
Ability to obtain a Secret level clearance.

Nice To Haves

Eight years of demonstrated experience in the trade of master electrician and licensed to perform electrician functions in any U.S. state
Demonstrated experience in the installation and maintenance of industrial type of electrical distribution systems
Knowledge and experience of 400 hertz systems and facility modifications and the effects with power distribution

Responsibilities

Connections and disconnections of electrical power for US Naval combat systems
Recommend efficient and effective procedures in connecting and disconnecting power
Provide scheduling of work scope advice and planning future installations of power requirements for Naval systems and additional support equipment
