About The Position

This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures within a manufacturing facility. The electrician will ensure all work complies with relevant codes and may service process or facilities equipment for the manufacture of Freightliner products. The position is for the first shift and is located in Cleveland, NC.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of experience troubleshooting electrical controls and working with PLCs in an industrial facility.
  • Demonstrated safe and proper installation techniques for power systems wiring.
  • Demonstrated completed wiring installations, including running conduit.
  • Full working knowledge of the NEC and power distribution systems.
  • Capability of bending rigid and aluminum conduits.
  • Capability of calculating circuit sizes, wire, and conduit size per National Electrical Code.
  • Capability of providing electrical services from prints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
  • Capability of reading wiring schematics and sketching electrical circuit components and their wiring.
  • CMMS experience.
  • Initial RCRA training and annual RCRA refresher training, along with job-specific on-the-job training.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Attached resume required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. at the time of application.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing automotive environment.
  • Associate's Degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on all plant electrical systems, including 13.2 KV, 4160 V, 480 V, and 277 V three-phase systems, 240 V and 208 V single and three-phase systems, 120-volt single-phase systems, and 24 and 12-volt systems.
  • Perform electrical maintenance on DC systems as necessary.
  • Perform electrical installations, including running conduit, pulling wire, and mounting and wiring electrical components and switches.
  • Execute maintenance tasks based on work orders, preventative maintenance (PM) orders, and written/verbal instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems for plant equipment and systems using PLC equipment.
  • Utilize basic mechanical knowledge to repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot various sized hoists and cranes.
  • Operate forklifts and aerial lifts.
