About The Position

The Electrician/Maintenance Mechanic inspects, maintains, repairs, and installs electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. The position also inspects, maintains, repairs, and installs phone and data infrastructure. The mechanic completes and documents weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual inspections and testing as required by The Joint Commission.

Requirements

• Massachusetts electrician license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Education and training required to complete and obtain Massachusetts state electrical licensure.
• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Knowledge of Massachusetts state building and electrical codes.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• At least three years of experience working as a licensed electrician.

Nice To Haves

• Hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with applicable codes.
• Perform electrically related activities specified by work orders.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures according to specifications.
• Complete phone, fiber optic, and data work as needed, including installation and troubleshooting.
• Obtain necessary parts through established engineering purchasing procedures.
• Complete and document inspections and testing at weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual intervals as required by The Joint Commission.
