The Lead Electrician performs electrical installation, maintenance, and repair. This role involves inspecting, maintaining, cleaning, repairing, testing, and adjusting a variety of electrical equipment, circuitry, and fixtures. The position also includes performing maintenance and repair on electrical equipment such as motors, switchgear, circuit breakers, electrical buzzer and bell circuits, lighting circuits, light fixtures, air movement fans, switches, heating and air-conditioning equipment and machinery, master clocks, rheostats, thermostats, and electrical drills, grinders, and other related electrical shop equipment. The Lead Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels and outlet boxes, as well as a wide variety of electrical fixtures. This role requires the use of hand tools, power tools, and appliances for electrical work, and involves measuring, cutting, threading, bending, assembling, and installing conduits, splicing wires to fixtures, outlets, switches, receptacles, and power sources. Testing of circuits and equipment using voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeters, and ohmmeters is also a key responsibility, covering electrical circuits up to 600 volts, 3-phase current. Adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations is mandatory, along with performing other duties as assigned.
