About The Position

Tessera is seeking an experienced and detailed Electrician Lead with a positive attitude. This role involves delegating tasks, inspecting and maintaining electrical systems, performing minor installations and repairs, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and the National Electrical Code (NEC). The Electrician Lead will also be responsible for maintaining and operating lift equipment, driving company vehicles, and working from heights. Additionally, they will inspire and motivate team members, assist with quality control and safety, and utilize digital tools for record-keeping. Requirements

  • Five (5) years of commercial electrician experience required.
  • State of Alaska journeyman electrical license required.
  • State of Alaska electrical administrator license required.
  • Alaska certificate of fitness required.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of different environments, including inclement weather and from manlifts.
  • Must have the ability and be willing to work outside of normal working hours, such as after hours and weekends, in the event of unplanned outages.
  • Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking.
  • Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Delegate tasks and provide clear guidance to members of the Structures team, ensuring all work is accomplished safely and in compliance with industry standards and contractual requirements.
  • Inspect, operate, and test industrial lighting equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Replace lamps and ballasts.
  • Clean lighting fixtures, replace receptacles, various switches, and other connections, and perform miscellaneous re-lamping repairs.
  • Inspect, install, and maintain grounding and lightning protection systems.
  • Perform minor electrical installations and repairs, including outlet repair and/or replacement; circuit breaker(s), various sensors, and ground fault interruptions.
  • Perform routine electrical maintenance to ensure lighting systems operate efficiently in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Plan and layout repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
  • Maintain and operate all lift equipment necessary to service lights.
  • Drive up to a 1-ton pickup or bucket truck with trailer.
  • Work from heights, ladders, and man lifts.
  • Distinguish between different wire colors.
  • Inspire, motivate, and guide team members to reach work goals.
  • Assist Quality Control and Safety departments in training and inspections as needed.
  • Utilize mobile maintenance and inspection devices to maintain a record of all service and repair activities.
  • Wear PPE as required.
  • Be proficient with NFPA 70 and 70E and comply with ANSI C2.
  • Utilize digital inspection tools such as infrared thermal imaging.
