Headquartered in Fort Wayne, IN, WaterFurnace designs and manufactures ultra-efficient, renewable-energy comfort products that provide heating, cooling and potable hot water solutions for use in both homes and commercial buildings. The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within an HVAC manufacturing facility. This role supports production operations by ensuring all electrical components, machinery, and systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Requirements

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license (state or local)
  • 3–7+ years of industrial or manufacturing electrical experience (HVAC industry preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
  • Familiarity with motor controls, sensors, and industrial automation systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in HVAC manufacturing or assembly environments
  • Knowledge of robotics, conveyors, and automated production lines
  • Experience with CMMS systems for maintenance tracking

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components in a manufacturing environment
  • Troubleshot electrical issues on production machinery, control systems, and facility infrastructure
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and automated equipment
  • Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled systems and industrial automation components
  • Install and wire motors, VFDs, control panels, and HVAC units during production and testing
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, and company safety policies
  • Support equipment upgrades, retrofits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Respond to production downtime events and provide timely corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
