About The Position

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED Certificate. Vocational/ Specialized Training/Certification in electrical field Journeyman Certification from a Bonafide Apprenticeship program as Electrician Trade 3 - 5 years of experience as Electrician 3 - 5 years of experience in customer relations, electrical field and with utility industry. Proficient in Microsoft computer skills (Word, Excel, Power point, MS Project Management, and Outlook) Valid Driver's License required (subject to motor vehicle record review) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES: Utilizes basic electric instruments. Assists with troubleshooting service interruptions and electrical outages. Is familiar with controls in district's water and wastewater plants and gas controls. Investigates customer complaints concerning electrical problems. Reads, interprets, and uses blueprints and schematics for troubleshooting. Troubleshoots and maintains water well controls from telemetry to the motor leads and maintains emergency generators at lift stations. Conducts safety training sessions. Installs and maintains various types of motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers and transformers. Installs and removes electric single phase and three phase meters and services, makes emergency repairs and energizes primary lines. Troubleshoots and corrects technical problems with the use of testing equipment; such as voltmeters, amp meters, ohmmeters, etc. Troubleshoots overhead and underground circuits. Conducts inspections on non-NTUA work, such as meterloop installation Connects/disconnects multiple utility services upon request of customer or for non-payment of delinquent accounts. Maintains daily records of time worked, including filling out time sheets. Operates a company vehicle in the performance of duties. Provides technical assistance and on-the-job training for apprentices. Wires up switch cabinets, meter cabinets and RTU cabinets. Performs residential and commercial wiring, including heating and cooling equipment in accordance with National Electric Code and installs electric motors and motor controls. Work on secondary electric lines only; repairs streetlights and security lights. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
