About The Position

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems. The level of this position (Electrician Licensed E9 or Electrician Master Licensed E10) depends on the applicant's plumber license. Please attach a copy of your license to your application. Electrician Licensed E9 / $32.32 - $41.53: This is the experienced (journeyman) level. The employee performs a full range of Electrician assignments using independent judgment to make decisions requiring the application of procedures and practices to specific work situations. The employee will work in concert with other Electricians and trades to perform a full range of Electrician assignments for projects on state properties as required for maintenance, construction and remodeling. The employee will utilize a wide range of power tools and other equipment appropriate to the work. The employee will provide customer service with courtesy, respect and attention to detail, work cooperatively with staff, and assure all staff are customer service oriented, expressing a positive and helpful outcome to projects and during daily interaction with tenants. DART - This position is considered safety sensitive due to the nature of the work performed and will be DART (Drug and Alcohol Random Tested) designated. Electrician Master Licensed E10 / $32.70 - $44.60: This is the experienced (master) level. The employee obtains permits, performs electrical work as required by law, and performs the full range of technical aspects of electrical work. The employee uses considerable independent judgment in making decisions without the availability of supervision. The employee will work in concert with other Electricians and trades to perform a full range of electrical assignments for projects on state properties as required for maintenance, construction, and remodeling. The employee will use a wide range of power tools and other equipment appropriate to the work. The employee will provide customer service with courtesy, respect, and attention to detail, work cooperatively with staff, and assure all staff are customer service oriented, expressing a positive and helpful outcome to projects and during daily interaction with tenants. DART - This position is considered safety sensitive due to the nature of the work performed and will be DART (Drug and Alcohol Random Tested) designated.

Requirements

  • Possession of a journeyman electrician's license (for E9).
  • Possession of a master electrician's license issued by the State of Michigan (for E10).
  • Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States within three business days of beginning employment.
  • Must provide cover letter, resume, and electrical license to application.

Nice To Haves

  • The level of this position (Electrician Licensed E9 or Electrician Master Licensed E10) depends on applicant's plumber license.
  • Some positions may require possession of the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the Secretary of State as required by Public Act 346 of 1988 to operate a designated state vehicle.
