About The Position

ASRC Federal Gulf State Constructors is seeking an Electrician, Interior in support of our Sheppard AFB Base Operations Support Contract located in Wichita Falls, TX. This role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment (600 volts or less). The position requires knowledge of electrical equipment, instrument theory, technical practices including troubleshooting, and the ability to interpret electrical drawings. Maintenance electrician work typically requires rounded training and experience, often acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Journeyman Electrician License or higher required
  • Four (4) years of interior electrical experience
  • Two (2) years experience emphasized in industrial components repair and working with high voltage
  • Must be a US or Permanent Citizen due to contract requirements

  • Current CPR Certification

Responsibilities

  • Installing, modifying, and testing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment (600 volts or less amperage, phase, and frequency requirements).
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing all types of grounding systems and lightning protection systems.
  • Working from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and layout routing, placement, type, size gauge, balance, load, continuity, and safe operations of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment, and controls.
  • Working on a wide variety of equipment, including motors, motor control devices, speed control units, and automatic control equipment.
  • Installing, connecting, testing, and maintaining electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including climate control, security, and communications.
  • Installing and maintaining the electronic controls for machines in business and industry.
  • Pulling insulated wires or cables through conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
  • Connecting wire to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Joining wires in boxes with various specially designed connectors.
  • Using testing equipment such as ohmmeters, ammeters, meggers, and voltmeters to check circuits for proper connections, ensuring electrical compatibility and safety of components.
  • Performing preventive/recurring maintenance.
  • Periodically inspecting equipment and locating and correcting problems before breakdowns occur.
  • Advising management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Interpreting and applying the National Electric Code, local codes, building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings, and using trade formulas to calculate common properties (e.g., voltage drops and current capacity in series and parallel circuits, resistance, inductance, capacitance, power factors, current flow, and temperature and length in single and multiple raceways, conduit, gutters, and cable trays).
  • Making necessary repairs as quickly as possible to minimize inconvenience.
  • Working with engineers, engineering technicians, or industrial machinery installation, repair, and maintenance workers.
  • Working with lower-grade employees to accomplish projects.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support the needs of the customer.
