Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years Industrial Electrical Maintenance Experience.
  • Journeyman Electrician license
  • Strong troubleshooting skills necessary, with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced; multi-tasking environment and meet operational deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated, safety and quality conscious, and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Heavy lifting required (50 plus lbs).
  • Lift truck operator experience required.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.

  • Additional experience, training or formal education is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, lay out, build and perform all required operations involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment in the plant, office and grounds.
  • Work from drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, manufacturer manuals, work orders, or instructions.
  • Plan and lay out installations, compute wire sizes and balance loads, and follow electrical codes.
  • Bend and install conduit, pull and terminate wires, and connect complex control boards.
  • Install switchboards, motors, controls, and lighting fixtures.
  • Diagnose trouble on production and building electrical equipment, determine repairs necessary, replace or repair parts, and make adjustments.
  • Overhaul motors replacing bearings, bushings, brushes, or cleaning armatures.
  • Perform other related maintenance trade functions outside of the electrical scope.
  • Perform necessary preventive maintenance operations and report recurring difficulties or apparent misuse of equipment.
  • Maintain required records including a file of plant electrical and machinery layouts.
  • Maintain electrical schematics and spare parts inventory.
  • Instruct, direct and assist lower class electrician or helper.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned
