About The Position

Installs, repairs, and maintains power, lighting, communications, and control systems. This role involves routine inspection of electrical systems, repairing or replacing parts, performing preventative maintenance, and planning and installing wiring and electrical apparatus in buildings.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, High School Certificate of Completion, or G.E.D.
  • 4 years of electrical experience.
  • California State certified electrician.
  • Proficiency in electrical building code requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Local, State, and Federal guidelines as related to position.
  • Ability to perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs of 120/240/277/480vac, single and 3 phase, high and low circuits, and devices.
  • Ability to competently use electrical meters, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning building electrical systems.
  • Ability to document and track assignments through a shop log or work order system.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical information from manuals, drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Ability to read in the English language.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, crawl, kneel, and reach.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts.
  • Ability to interact effectively with team members and guests.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions.
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism.
  • Ability to appear for work on time.
  • Ability to work in a smoking environment.

Responsibilities

  • Installs and maintains electrical equipment by routinely inspecting electrical systems.
  • Repairs or replaces broken or defective parts and fixtures.
  • Performs preventative maintenance services on circuits, transformers, and lighting.
  • Identifies and corrects defective or damaged electrical systems.
  • Plans and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings as needed.
  • Maintains a safe work and storage area by cleaning and organizing designated storage areas.
  • Stores tools and materials.
  • Repairs or replaces old or broken tools following established procedures.
  • Follows established safety standards while using tools.
