About The Position

The Electrician II performs skilled work at the journeyman level in the electrical trade. Installs, repairs, and performs maintenance of a wide variety of electrical equipment to include high voltage switching equipment, transformers, appliances, circuitry, and lighting systems in athletic fields (indoors and outdoors), streets, labs, classrooms and buildings. May train and supervise entry level personnel. May work with high voltage systems (480 to 12470 VAC) and at levels of thirty to one-hundred and twenty feet above ground.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four (4) years of electrical work experience
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report in compliance with University policies
  • Ability to operate and use various tools of the trade in completion of work tasks.
  • Ability to lift, handle and maneuver the tools, materials and supplies of the job.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot blueprints, drawings, manuals, maps, schematics, and plans.
  • Ability to do material takeoffs.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
  • Final candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation and information obtained from social media and other internet sources.
