About The Position

The Electrician II - Journeyman is responsible for performing all electrical tasks under general supervision. The role requires a Journeyman license, the ability to read blueprints, terminate cables, install and troubleshoot control wiring from drawings, and demonstrate experience beyond that of an electrical apprentice. Additionally, proficiency in rough-in work is required. This role may be required to fill in as needed in other positions at the direction of the manager or director.

Requirements

• 5 years’ experience electrical experience in health care, extended care, multifamily dwellings, or similar facilities, is required.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, including high-voltage systems
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve electrical issues
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate installation and repairs
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Must hold Montgomery County Journeyman’s License.

Nice To Haves

• Experience beyond that of an electrical apprentice.
• Proficiency in rough-in work.

Responsibilities

• Install feeders and branch circuits.
• Size wire and conduit.
• Install and terminate switchgear, panelboards, lighting, and devices.
• Install and terminate fire alarm systems equipment/devices.
• Perform layout and preparation for installation.
• Complete underground layout and rough-in.
• Troubleshoot motors and controls.
• Mentor and train apprentice electricians.
• Fully comprehend electrical theory and the NFPA 70 National Electrical Code.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
