About The Position

The Electrician II is an experienced electrician responsible for performing highly diversified duties including planning, building and installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining production and facility equipment according to safety and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Three plus years of experience or education resulting in thorough understanding of electrical theory and principles and the ability to perform duties of this position.
  • Basic knowledge of programmable logic controllers.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to interpret electrical and mechanical situations to determine process failure, needs, and improvements.
  • Strong willingness to learn and take direction from those with more experience/knowledge.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Must possess and/or obtain routine hand tools used by an industrial electrician.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, layout and install support for new and existing equipment.
  • Design, build and program electrical controls and equipment.
  • Utilize electrical ladder diagrams, electronic circuitry diagrams, and software programs to modify, repair, or improve equipment functionality.
  • Design, build, and install control cabinets.
  • Work with and direct vendors concerning electrical projects.
  • Maintain facility and production electrical systems.
  • Install wiring, conduit, and fixtures supporting new and existing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues; motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, communication devices, electronic controls and power transmission systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic circuitry and related components associated with the operation of facility equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Operate and utilize a variety of tools such as: mechanical hand tools, power tools, electrical/electronic test equipment and calibration equipment.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Keep work areas organized and maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
  • Attend classes and training sessions related to electrical theory and practices.
  • Assist with projects in reference to electrical/mechanical support and when directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by qualified electricians or management.
