Ameresco is currently looking for an Electrician / General Mechanic to join their Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team at McGuire AFB, New Jersey. This is an onsite role supporting base facilities and energy assets under an ESPC contract. The position will provide HVAC coverage during peak heating/cooling seasons and will transition to a heavier electrical/solar focus as seasonal demand shifts. This role reports directly to the Site Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial electrical/electronic maintenance experience.
  • Ability to review confidential U.S. security information.
  • Real ID or valid passport is required for site access.
  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing issued by state of residence.

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC familiarity and demonstrated mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician in the State of New Jersey preferred.
  • High voltage experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Recognize safety hazards and follow safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of coworkers, and protection of the public.
  • Support day-to-day O&M activities for base facilities and site energy assets, prioritizing safe, compliant work practices.
  • Perform electrical maintenance activities including repair, testing, troubleshooting, inspection, installation, removal, and preventative maintenance of electrical systems and related equipment.
  • Repair, test, troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain solar site equipment such as batteries, solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment under the supervision of field supervision and the Operations Manager.
  • Provide HVAC support as required by seasonal needs and contract requirements.
  • Read and interpret instruction manuals, blueprints, one-lines, and control system drawings.
  • Complete written and electronic records required to document work in progress and as completed.
  • Coordinate safely with the team to support site needs, including routine field work and corrective maintenance.
  • Supervise and train apprentice electricians/coworkers on the proper and safe use of tools and maintenance procedures.
  • Participate in on-call support and varied schedule coverage as site needs require.
  • Perform other duties as required.
