About The Position

Critical Loop is seeking hands-on Electricians to support critical field deployments across California for their energy storage systems (BESS) and mobile power conveyance equipment. This hybrid role involves prototype development, customer deployments, fleet servicing, and facility support, combining field work with time at their Long Beach office. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, technically proficient, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving systems and close engineering collaboration. The role requires up to 50% travel.

Requirements

  • Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or higher) or equivalent industrial/commercial experience.
  • 3+ years working with power systems, ideally including energy storage or mobile power equipment.
  • First hand knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC), OSHA electrical safety, and coordination of permits/inspections.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings.
  • Proficiency with standard electrical test tools (multimeter, insulation tester, clamp meter, etc.).
  • Comfortable performing both energized and de-energized work with correct safety protocols.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed.
  • Valid CA driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with inverters, DC infrastructure, and backup power systems (generators, UPS, ATS).
  • Familiarity with mobile or modular power platforms (skid- or trailer-mounted).
  • Commissioning and servicing of energy storage or renewable energy systems.
  • Knowledge of control wiring, sensors, and instrumentation.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
  • C-10 contractor’s license.
  • Class A driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, test, and commission BESS and mobile power conveyance systems during prototype builds and customer deployments.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on low- and medium-voltage systems both in the field and at headquarters.
  • Ensure all work meets NFPA 70 (NEC), OSHA electrical safety standards, and permitting/inspection requirements; support inspection readiness.
  • Layout and wire panels, conduit, interconnects, and power infrastructure for deployed systems, prototypes, and facility installations.
  • Execute energized and de-energized work safely using proper PPE, lockout/tagout, and hazard analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams on prototype iterations, system updates, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain clear records of inspections, issues, resolutions, and parts usage across field and facility operations.
