About The Position

Plan, lay out, install, test, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, equipment, and control systems in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. This is an intermediate-level role in a construction or industrial environment. The electrician interprets drawings and plans, selects procedures and tools, installs and tests electrical systems, troubleshoots defects, and follows safety and project rules.

Requirements

May require a high school diploma or equivalent and prior years of experience in the field or a related area.
Working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
Must have required tools.
May require a U.S. driver's license.
Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

Interpret drawings, sketches, software, and plans, and determine work procedures, tools, and equipment needed to troubleshoot and repair problems.
Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable and duct banks; and make terminations.
Install and fasten control and distribution apparatus in place.
Test and start up systems and check circuit continuity to ensure electrical compatibility and component safety.
Observe installed equipment and systems to identify hazards and determine whether adjustments, relocation, or replacement are needed.
Pull wire through conduit and connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, as required.
Work with high- and low-voltage systems.
Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.
Operate electrical and mechanical hand tools and power, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical tools.
Observe and comply with safety and project rules and perform other duties as required.
