About The Position

Plan, lay out, install, test, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, equipment, and control systems in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. The role involves working with high- and low-voltage systems, installing conduit and electrical equipment, testing systems for compatibility and safety, and troubleshooting and repairing defective equipment or systems. The electrician may work outdoors in all weather conditions, at heights, and in confined spaces.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent, with prior years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools.
• Able to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces, potentially exceeding 200 feet.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by workload.
• Must observe and comply with all safety and project rules.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, sketches, software, and plans; determine procedures, tools, and equipment needed to troubleshoot and repair problems.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable and duct banks; and make terminations.
• Install control and distribution apparatus and fasten it in place.
• Test and start up systems and check circuit continuity to ensure electrical compatibility and component safety.
• Observe installed equipment or systems to identify hazards and determine whether adjustments, relocation, or replacement are needed.
• Pull wire through conduit and connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment as required.
• Work with high- and low-voltage systems.
• Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.
• Operate electrical and mechanical hand tools and power, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical tools.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules; perform other duties as required.
