About The Position

Join Johnson Controls as a Wiring Technician/Electrician at its San Antonio, Texas plant. The role offers hands-on experience in manufacturing. The employee wires transformers, panels, and devices on units according to engineering drawings, working safely and producing quality workmanship in accordance with Johnson Controls principles, corporate policies, procedures, and plant operations. The position involves wiring PLC transformers, microprocessors, and junction boxes; assembling and wiring control panels from drawings; laying out conduit according to NEC and UL standards; and identifying and wiring devices on units. An active role in a Continuous Improvement Team is a condition of employment. Other occasional assignments may be required for business reasons and may affect production or operations.

Requirements

Possess a complete understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) on electrical drawings, as applicable.
Ability to use hand tools, electrical equipment, and measuring tape.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Vision corrected to 20/20.
Must understand and follow safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area and/or equipment as required.
Meet the physical and mental demands described, including occasional lifting of 50 lbs. and frequent reading of prints and exercising judgment.

Responsibilities

Wire PLC transformers, microprocessors, and junction boxes.
Assemble and wire control panels from drawings.
Perform conduit layout on units in accordance with NEC and UL standards.
Identify and wire all devices on units.
Follow safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and maintain a clean and safe work area or equipment as required.
Participate actively in a Continuous Improvement Team.
Perform other occasional work assignments as business needs require.
