About The Position

The Electrician Apprentice will support the equipment & maintenance team by learning to inspect, service, diagnose, and repair electrical systems and equipment. Apprentices will work alongside experienced electricians, gaining practical experience and exposure to industry standards and safety practices.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for electrical work and interest in pursuing a career as an electrician.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Report to the shop dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work independently within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends, when necessary.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and productions areas as stated by OSHA.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • Ability to work in a safety sensitive construction setting, including exposure to moving machinery and heavy equipment.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be to work in constant exposure to the outside elements, in all weather conditions.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or listen.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move from 35 to 75 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in electrical or construction environments is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed electricians with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, panels, outlets, and components.
  • Learn to troubleshoot electrical issues using proper tools and diagnostic procedures.
  • Support in reading and interpreting electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness in work areas, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Help with the setup and breakdown of equipment and materials for electrical projects.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development sessions as required.
