About The Position

Performs a variety of duties in and around the hospital complex to ensure the safe and efficient operation and repair of all equipment and support systems in accordance with accreditation standards. The items include, but are not limited to, plumbing, electrical, electronic at board level, HVAC systems, building maintenance, and patient care equipment. Performs all other duties as assigned. Working and performing electrical and preventative maintenance duties alongside the Master Electrician and Licensed Journeyman in order to acquire mandatory on-the-job training as required by TDLR – State of Texas.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Apprentice license issued by TDLR – State of Texas
Must be familiar with plumbing, electrical, painting, mechanical repair and general building techniques.
Telephone or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

Completes job assignments in a timely manner.
Maintains work order time charges at 95%.
Daily recap completed and turned in by end of shift.
Follows DPP & SPP for attendance and use of PTO.
Compares vendor prices for purchases of supplies to help maintain department budgets.
Demonstrates a willingness to perform assignments outside the scope of the job classification.
Keeps assigned areas clean and orderly; cleans up after jobs are complete.
Participates as a member of the fire response team.
Completes Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures by the 25th day of month issued.
Attends staff meetings as required (at least 80% compliance.)
