About The Position

This is a 1st Shift Electrician Apprentice position with training provided. The apprenticeship combines on-the-job training with classroom study to develop a new generation of practitioners in the trade. The apprentice will work with skilled electricians to install and service electrical systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. Responsibilities include installing power supply wiring and conduit, troubleshooting electrical components, maintaining and repairing electrical systems, and testing electrical systems for compatibility and safety, ensuring code compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Year 1: General SAP Understanding & Usage, Understanding the NEC Codes, Print Reading & Ladder Logic, Design / Construction Lighting, Protection and Site Lighting, 110 / 220 / 480 volt basic Understanding
  • Year 2: Motors, Controllers and Installation, Basic AC & DC Circuits - how to Install & Protect, Variable Frequency Drives, Programmable Logic Controls
  • Year 3: System Protection, Circuit Breakers, and Coordination, Transformers and Over Current Protection, Data acquisitions & control systems
  • Year 4: Feeder Bus Systems, Electrical Service Equipment
  • Year 5: Industrial Electrical Wiring Plans & Specifications, Construction Plans and Site Work
  • OJT Training Hours (4,000)
  • Classroom Hours (100)
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and interpret work instructions and safety rules
  • Ability to pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Repetitive arm and hand motions during working shift
  • Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift
  • Able to lift 40 pounds
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
  • Willing and able to adhere to all safety standards and wear all necessary personal protective equipment
  • Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
