This is a 1st Shift Electrician Apprentice position. The apprenticeship program provides on-the-job training and accompanying study, including classroom work and reading, to train a new generation of practitioners in the trade. Apprentices will work with skilled electricians to install new and service existing electrical systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. The role involves installing power supply wiring and conduit, troubleshooting electrical components, and maintaining and repairing electrical systems. Testing electrical systems and ensuring code compliance are also key aspects of the role. The program is structured over five years, with specific learning objectives for each year, including SAP understanding, NEC codes, print reading, ladder logic, various voltage systems, motors, controllers, VFDs, PLCs, system protection, transformers, data acquisition, feeder bus systems, electrical service equipment, and industrial electrical wiring plans. The apprenticeship requires 4,000 OJT training hours and 100 classroom hours. Local outside resources like Edison Community College are mentioned for further study.
