About The Position

The Electrician Apprentice will perform any duties associated with the Fabrication Shop process on an as-needed basis. This position will learn the basics of fabrication, welding, conduit installation/bending, pulling wire and painting. This career requires knowledge and basic understanding of small mobile equipment such as forklifts, skid-steers, and man lifts, effective communication both written and verbal.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED-equivalent.
• Experience using electrical or manual tools such as saws, squares, calipers, etc.
• Knowledge and basic understanding of small mobile equipment such as forklifts, skid-steers, and man lifts.
• Effective communication both written and verbal.

Nice To Haves

• Previous welding, fabrication, electrical is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the set-up and clean-up of all functions performed in the Fabrication Shop.
• Assist the Fabrication Shop electrical team as needed with basic installation/maintenance of EMR electrical systems such as 24VDC control systems, 120VAC circuits, as well as industrial 480VAC, EMR’s fire suppression system.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Uses hand tools, power tools and mobile equipment as necessary.
• Monitors equipment for appropriate usage and wear.
• Monitors work environment for hazards and maintains healthy ventilation levels to avoid particle or gas inhalation.
• Follows safety protocol, including wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
• Other job duties as assigned.
