About The Position

Shaw Industries is seeking a Electrician Advanced IV to train and mentor reliability electricians 1-3, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively. Involves design, installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems. Use of testing devices to troubleshoot electrical issues and inspect various electrical components. Maintain and upkeep equipment as assigned and participate in root cause analysis of machinery faults, identify the necessary steps to correct the faults, and make repairs and participate in finding solutions to eliminate future recurrence of the faults.   • Must be able to participate in root cause analysis of equipment failures assisting in identifying the root causes of problems.
  • Must be able to assist in implementation of solutions to resolve equipment failures, preventing recurrences.
  • Basic math skills are essential.
  • Must be able to operate a PIT (Fork/Squeeze) or willing to learn.
  • May be required to operate aerial lift.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Mechanical Equipment Repair/Upkeep Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Train and mentor reliability electricians 1-3.
  • Design, installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Use of testing devices to troubleshoot electrical issues and inspect various electrical components.
  • Maintain and upkeep equipment as assigned.
  • Participate in root cause analysis of machinery faults, identify the necessary steps to correct the faults, and make repairs.
  • Participate in finding solutions to eliminate future recurrence of the faults.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor or plant management.
  • Attend all required meetings (first day back, safety, training, etc.).
  • General housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • General Plant Repairs (Bathroom, Office, Breakroom, Parking Lot, Painting, Roof, Etc.).
  • Ensure that all upkeep and repairs to asset/equipment will be documented in the CMMS (Sharp) system, including labor and materials used.
  • Meet set goals that include KPI’s that will improve efficiency, downtime reductions with a distinction of process and equipment related downtime.
  • Provide training to other technicians as required.
  • Complete DOSTool activities to current pay level and higher DOSTool activity levels as required.
