About The Position

Hanover Foods Corporation Clayton, De is currently seeking an Electrician A for our 2nd shift. The Electrician A is responsible for maintaining, installing, troubleshooting, and adjusting electrical systems and equipment throughout the processing facility. This position ensures that all electrical operations run safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and company standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED), and formal electrical training or equivalent field experience, required.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, and safety standards.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Must supply and maintain personal hand tools and equipment appropriate to the trade.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing electrical environment preferred.
  • Computer skills for equipment diagnostics and recordkeeping are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints to diagnose and repair systems.
  • Performs testing, calibration, and maintenance of electronic and electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as volt-ohm meters (VOM), ammeters, and other standard testing equipment.
  • Ensures all machine guards and safety devices are in place and operational prior to equipment use.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots PLC systems, AC/DC drives, and motor controls.
  • Properly handles and disposes of waste materials in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Immediately reports any product or process deviations impacting quality to the Supervisor, Manager, or Quality Assurance personnel.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Follows all safety practices, plant rules, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Adheres to plant hygiene and food safety regulations to ensure product integrity.
  • Remains in the assigned work area unless authorized by the Supervisor or Lead.
  • Complies with all food safety, legality, and quality policies—including GMPs, product quality, food security, and plant security procedures.
  • Performs other essential duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
