About The Position

Foster Farms is seeking an Electrician A to provide electrical maintenance support for the company. This role involves analyzing and repairing electrical malfunctions, working from blueprints and schematics, and performing maintenance, repair, or installation of equipment. The electrician will also be responsible for reporting material needs, directing less experienced employees, determining electrical specifications, preparing circuit layouts, inspecting and repairing electrical components, and troubleshooting computerized equipment controllers. General cleaning, assisting other crews, and maintaining safety, housekeeping, and sanitation standards are also part of the job functions. Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 4 years of training on the job and/or formal schooling.
  • Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision and complete work in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work from ladder, safely.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, and weekends as required.
  • Must have and maintain a California driver’s license and an acceptable DMV record.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and repair electrical malfunctions.
  • Work from blueprints/schematics to perform maintenance/repair or install equipment.
  • Report (in writing) materials and replacement parts needed for jobs.
  • Direct/instruct subordinate employees still requiring training (e.g., Electrical Maintenance Mechanics, Classes B and C).
  • Determine proper size and specifications and perform electrical maintenance on miscellaneous items such as wire, conduit, fuses, motors, switches, panels, lighting, relays, control devices, etc.
  • Prepare layouts of electrical circuits.
  • Inspect motors, motor control centers, junction boxes, circuit breakers, transformers, fuse panels, and lighting, heating and air conditioning circuits and make necessary preventative and/or running repairs/corrections.
  • Perform installations, connections, adjustments, and calibrations of electrical gauges, meters, etc.
  • Troubleshoot computerized equipment controllers such as programmable, temperature, process controllers, etc.
  • General cleaning and/or assisting other crews if required.
  • Maintaining safety, housekeeping, and sanitation and disease control requirements while performing job duties.
