About The Position

A Maintenance Electrician is responsible for planning and installing electrical systems, performing and overseeing servicing, and managing tools and equipment. This role involves routine inspections of electrical components to ensure functionality, safety, and code compliance. The electrician will diagnose and repair system malfunctions, test electrical systems for safety and compatibility, and interpret blueprints for effective service. They will also advise on equipment lifespan and replacement needs, maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs, and ensure scheduled maintenance reduces risks and costs. Maintaining an orderly and clean work area is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience in electrical maintenance or associated work.
  • Familiar with the National Electrical Code.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures, and other components for functionality, code compliance, and potential hazards.
  • Diagnose malfunctions in systems or components and develop maintenance or repair plans.
  • Repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, and equipment to maintain full operational capacity.
  • Test systems using devices like voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters to ensure safety and component compatibility.
  • Review blueprints to understand wiring placement and equipment operation for service and repairs.
  • Provide recommendations on the lifespan of equipment and electrical components, advising on necessary replacements.
  • Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work, including supplies used.
  • Ensure routine maintenance is performed on schedule to minimize risks and costs.
  • Keep work areas orderly and clean.
