Resource Renew is looking for an Electrician 2 to join their team. This onsite role located in Duluth, Minnesota will support the electrical operations, maintenance and reliability of the Districts' facilities. Resource Renew, the brand of Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD), is committed to preventing pollution and protecting the environment, including the region's most precious resource - Lake Superior. Founded as a special purpose unit of government created by the Minnesota Legislature in 1971 to address serious environmental pollution problems in the lower St. Louis River Basin, Resource Renew provides wastewater and solid waste services and oversight for a 530 square mile region around Duluth, Minnesota. Their facilities include a main wastewater treatment plant, multiple pump stations, and solid waste collection sites of varied types.

Requirements

  • Possess a certificate or degree in commercial and residential wiring, industrial electric technology or related field
  • Two years' experience as an electrician in a wastewater treatment plant or industrial facility
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
  • Possess a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Installation, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of various types of electrical equipment, instruments and devices
  • Control circuit repair and diagnostic techniques
  • Implementation of applicable codes (National Electrical Code – NEC) and safety standards related to electrical construction, installation and maintenance
  • Implementation of safe work practices and procedures including: NFPA 70E requirements, Confined Space Entry, Lock out/Tag out and Energy Control Procedures
  • Use of computerized systems for plant operations, historical data tracking systems and standard office software applications
  • Work outside normal hours and respond to emergency situations as needed
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment
  • Read and comprehend plans, engineered drawings, owner manuals and specifications
  • Use and keep accurate records including interfacing with an EAM as defined by the District
  • Perform medium voltage switching and maintenance at substations and on power generation equipment (diesel and methane generators)
  • Work with various hand and power tools
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
