The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Maintenance Division is looking for a motivated Electrician 2 to assist in maintaining the historic facilities at the Capitol Complex and adjacent office buildings. This position supports critical electrical work across multiple state buildings and ensures that essential systems operate safely and dependably. As an Electrician 2, you will perform the following duties: Journeyman Electrical Duties: Plan, coordinate, perform, and be accountable for the installation and maintenance of electrical components System Troubleshooting: Locate and fix power failures, shorts, and related electrical issues Project Planning: Review and analyze requested location for electric vehicle (EV) charging stations; create project drawings and plans for UCC and other approvals Collaborative Coordination: Plan and coordinate project efforts with other tradespersons and department personnel, attend and contribute to project planning meetings, and assist with seasonal duties Equipment Use: Operate electrical testing devices and tools, erect and work from scaffolding and lifts, properly use safety equipment, and install steel conduit Lead Work: Guide trainees and helpers by assigning tasks, reviewing work for accuracy, and providing assistance with apprenticeship readiness and license test preparation. Note: This position is considered essential. You will be required to report in-office during emergencies and office closings.
