About The Position

The Electrician 1 is responsible for reading blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including the location, quantities, and sizes of required materials. The role identifies the tools needed for tasks and recognizes safety risks and precautions required to eliminate them. The position involves installing, testing, observing, and repairing electrical equipment and systems in an industrial construction or maintenance setting.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of industrial construction or maintenance industry experience.
• NCEER certification, written or performance verified.
• Ability to fabricate and install rigid and aluminum, E.M.T., plastic-bond, and P.V.C. conduit.
• Ability to use mechanical benders and hydraulic benders from 2 inches to 4 inches, and fabricate and install conduit supports.
• Ability to install wire and cable by hand, by machine, and in cable trays.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine work scope, locations, quantities, and material sizes.
• Identify required tools and safety risks, and determine precautions to eliminate those risks.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using appropriate tools.
• Install and fasten control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
• Test circuit continuity and component compatibility and safety using electrical testing instruments.
• Observe installed equipment and systems to identify hazards or the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.
