About The Position

The position is based in Anchorage at the Worley Fabrication Facility, on a 5 day a week work schedule. Schedule subject to change pending the project(s) needs. Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems, equipment, wiring and controls in a petrochemical facility.

Requirements

  • Possesses current knowledge of Journeyman Electrician, have Physical Fitness Card and an understanding of organizational practices.
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits including the operation and function of typical electrical devices and machinery such as solenoids, relays, motors, transformers, switches, motor control centers, generators, batteries, and lighting systems.
  • Possess an excellent knowledge of the National Electric Code.
  • Adequate written and oral communications applicable to standards set by organization.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficient in NFPA70E.
  • The employee must be able to lift and move up to forty (40) pounds, stand for long periods of time, extended periods of kneeling and or bending, ascending or descending ladders or stairs, and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Current and valid Alaska State Fitness Certificate as a Journeyman Electrician.
  • Two (2) years of industrial electrical preventive maintenance experience.
  • Valid driver’s license, including ability to be insured by Worley’s auto insurer.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Nice To Haves

  • Six (6) years’ experience as an electrician, including three (3) years in industrial electrical work or in relevant field.
  • Experience with UPS systems troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Experience with battery systems maintenance, PMs and change outs.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation and construction of industrial electrical equipment and systems found in an industrial or commercial environment through the proper use of standard wire, conduit, fittings, and hardware commonly found in industrial plants.
  • Reads and understands conduit drawings, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
  • Responsible for use and care of the tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction such as hydraulic/electric benders, knockout punch sets, cable puller, meggers, hi-pot equipment, volt meters, multi-testers, and ammeters.
  • Able to set and coordinate overcurrent protective devices, size feeder circuits and work on systems up to and including 13.8 kV.
  • Must be able to follow all company, client, safety, and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.
  • Bend, cut, thread, and install conduit.
  • Install and terminate wiring.
  • Check out and troubleshoot simple electric circuits and electrical devices and machinery.
  • Accountable for testing, troubleshooting, setting, and calibrating power distribution systems, while working with protective relaying and motor control circuits.
  • Safely climb ladders of various heights.
