Electrical Wiring Designer 3 - Nuclear Power
About The Position
This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of work spent in office and working remote from home. This position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment in the design, modification, and/or upgrade of new and existing power plant electrical systems. Under the direction of the Electrical Project Lead, you will work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams in the development of single-line diagrams, relay and metering diagrams, AC and DC schematic diagrams, synchronizing diagrams, point-to-point wiring diagrams, and cable schedules. You will check drawings produced by other personnel, as well as review and incorporate vendor drawings into the overall project design. Independently and as a member of a design team, investigate, trouble-shoot, and solve a wide variety of electrical wiring design issues. There may be the opportunity to accompany and assist in field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities. Provide guidance to others in the use of drafting tools, and also as a mentor in the development of less experienced drafters and designers. Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in a technical area including drafting or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience.
- Advanced drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e MicroStation).
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.
- Knowledge in MicroStation.
- Ability to multi-task from project to project.

Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models.
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design.
- Interest in learning and effectively using emerging technologies where relevant to their role.
- Experience with AI, automation, programming, or similar technologies is valued where relevant but is not required unless specifically identified elsewhere in the job description.
