About The Position

This position is an engineer-test configuration and development in the Integration and Test team, supporting our mission to return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Lunar Transportation is Blue Origin’s team dedicated to developing mission architectures such as our planned Lunar Lander program, Blue Moon. Our Lunar Transportation team is developing our lunar landers to demonstrate core capabilities – including the BE-7 landing engine, precision landing sensors, and advanced integrated power and propulsion architecture. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Requirements

  • BS in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or related technical discipline
  • 2+ years of experience supporting electrical test, integration, or verification of spacecraft, launch vehicles, satellites, or complex aerospace systems.
  • Hands-on experience with spacecraft systems, including avionics, sensors, and communications hardware.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans and procedures for complex systems or hardware
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
  • Experience working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends and travel to support business needs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with vehicle-level spacecraft testing, including integrated system tests and end-to-end functional testing.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft power systems, command and telemetry systems, and fault management.
  • Experience supporting environmental testing (thermal vacuum, vibration, EMI/EMC).
  • Knowledge of configuration management, test readiness reviews, and flight hardware handling requirements.
  • Experience with scripting (writing code in C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or other languages), automation, or data analysis tools
  • Prior experience in a cleanroom or launch-site environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while escalating issues appropriately.
  • Experience with test facility instrumentation and Data Acquisition and Control Systems
  • Understands/experience with hazardous operations

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop and execute test procedures for flight hardware
  • Execute daily test operations, operate test consoles, direct technician work and coordinate with internal customers
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans to verify system and subsystem requirements
  • Apply direct experience to vehicle test planning and execution of Vehicle instrumentation, functional, performance and environmental testing
  • Work with the design and systems engineers to plan tests of the integrated vehicle and subsystems, ensuring the tests are designed to verify the pertinent requirements
  • Assist in the development and refinement of test procedures, test setups, and ground support equipment.
  • Work independently to determine and develop approaches to solutions
  • Support test readiness reviews, shift handovers, and real-time test operations.
  • Manage procedural redlines and updates during test campaigns
  • Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations
