Electrical VDC Intern (33383)
About The Position
This position performs assignments and works under general supervision of a Professional. Gains exposure to career in area assigned. The intern will download documents, organize drawings/specifications, and set-up project folders. They will assist in the creation of electrical installation drawings and models using Revit software, and learn procedures for building systems and construction methods. Responsibilities include 3D Model BOM Extraction/Verification, analyzing and interpreting detailed drawings and specifications, and collaborating with the team to determine and price value-engineered alternatives. Exposure to Bluebeam and on-screen take-off procedures is provided. The intern will attend coordination meetings to understand conflict resolution and gain exposure to submittals. They will also walk jobsites to learn the trade and utilize knowledge to enhance company performance, and continue to grow through strategic mentoring, training, and development opportunities. Other duties as assigned ensure efficient and effective project completion.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering, Building Science, Architecture, and/or Construction Management discipline.
- 3.00 GPA or higher.
- Proficient in Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Highly motivated
- Good people skills
- Ability to learn new software/technology
- Attention to detail with exemplary intra-personal skills and be willing to assist management with a can-do attitude
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Firm believer in safety
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Bluebeam and Accubid a plus
