The Electrical Testing Technician will troubleshoot, test, and inspect electrical apparatus. This role performs as a "lead" person on projects and requires some technical supervision. The technician will perform all aspects of testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems, including troubleshooting, simple relay calibration, use of load recording instrumentation, and low and medium voltage switchgear testing through the 15 kV class. They will test and troubleshoot moderately complex electrical systems, simple relay systems, and power metering. The role may also involve simple power system studies such as short circuit and protective device coordination. Additionally, the technician will write detailed reports, process job billing, and may perform complex analysis for equipment labeling projects. A key aspect of this role is taking an active role in business development, including performing functions related to written job proposals, estimating man-hours and expenses, and developing scope and pricing.
