Requirements

  • NETA Level III or IV Certification (current and in good standing)
  • 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments
  • Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards
  • Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF, and equivalent
  • Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination
  • Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%)

Nice To Haves

  • NETA Level IV Certification
  • NICET Certification
  • Experience with SF6 breaker maintenance
  • Power systems engineering or related degree
  • Prior leadership/supervisory experience on testing projects
  • Experience in data center, utility, or industrial critical power environments

Responsibilities

  • Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV
  • Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis
  • Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based)
  • Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers
  • Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions
  • Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field
  • Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams
  • Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements
