Orion Test and Verification Engineer

Stellar Solutions Inc•Aurora, CO
•$118,000 - $143,000

About The Position

Stellar Solutions is seeking an Electrical Test and Verification (ET&V) Engineer to support NASA’s Orion Program. The ET&V team performs testing to meet verification and mission-validation objectives in the avionics discipline, coordinating and executing tests across system and subsystem levels in a high-fidelity mission laboratory. The engineer will support test, integration, and verification activities across multiple Artemis missions. Work includes developing and executing test procedures, translating requirements into executable scripts, conducting tests in simulation and hardware-in-the-loop laboratories, preparing verification reports, coordinating with engineering and test teams, and resolving test anomalies. The role may develop subject matter expertise in RF communications, guidance, navigation and control, command and data handling, avionics integration, and electrical and mechanical subsystems. The position supports government customers as a member of Stellar Solutions’ Civil team. The stated typical annual salary range is USD $118,000–$143,000, with eligibility for a discretionary annual performance bonus and a full benefits package. Compensation depends on factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and education or training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years (or appropriate level) of experience in spacecraft, launch vehicle, or complex system integration and test environments.
  • Experience writing and executing test procedures or scripts in support of system verification.
  • Experience working in simulation and/or hardware-in-the-loop environments.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and requirement verification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical requirements into executable procedures, communicate schedule impacts to planners, and elevate execution risks and concerns to test conductors and leadership.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly coordinated, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

  • Experience with requirements development.
  • Experience supporting high-velocity test campaign teams.
  • Experience in a laboratory environment with flight or flight-like hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Support test, integration, and verification activities across multiple Artemis missions.
  • Collaborate with Certified Principal Engineers to develop, review, and execute test procedures that validate system and subsystem requirements.
  • Translate technical requirements into executable test scripts and procedures.
  • Conduct testing initially in simulation environments and progress to hardware-in-the-loop laboratories.
  • Write test and verification reports to sell off requirements and test objectives.
  • Coordinate with engineering, planning, and test conductor teams to develop tests for execution in a flight-like laboratory.
  • Identify, document, and resolve test anomalies and discrepancies.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in technical domains such as RF communications, GNC, C&DH, avionics integration, and electrical and mechanical subsystems.

Benefits

  • Company-funded profit-sharing retirement savings plan.
  • Eligibility for a discretionary annual performance bonus.
