About The Position

Heartland Technical Education Center Adult Education has an opening for an Electrical Technologies Instructor for their Adult Education Department. The Heartland Technical Education Center will provide instructor NCCER training. The objective of this role is to plan, implement, and assess student learning experiences.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience in the electrical field
  • Basic knowledge in computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient use of a personal computer

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curriculum
  • Teach adult education students skills and knowledge in the electrical field in a daytime setting
  • Demonstrate hands-on activities to students and have students perform the activities
  • Maintain positive classroom management with consistent expectations for learning and achievement
  • Assist students in obtaining the skills necessary to be successful in the industry
  • Coordinate and lead an advisory committee twice yearly
  • Plan, direct, and evaluate the instructional process to best meet the needs of students
  • Record grades and attendance daily regularly
  • Communicate effectively with students to develop relationships and facilitate the educational process
  • Exemplify professionalism that advances the district's public image
  • Maintain open/effective communication
  • Take precautions to ensure safety
