About The Position

IES Residential is seeking a passionate and experienced Electrical Instructor to join our growing team in Lakeland, Florida. This role is an exciting opportunity to help develop the next generation of electrical professionals by delivering high-quality training and mentorship to our employees. If you have extensive residential electrical experience, a strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), and a desire to share your knowledge with others, we encourage you to apply. Previous teaching or training experience is a plus but not required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of residential electrical experience required.
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Experience in single-family residential construction.
  • Experience in multi-family residential construction.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to mentor, motivate, and develop others.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching, coaching, or training experience preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other training-related software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead classroom instruction that develops the skills, knowledge, and abilities needed for success in the electrical trade.
  • Deliver engaging lessons through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on training, and real-world simulations.
  • Coordinate with local divisions to provide on-the-job training opportunities that reinforce classroom learning.
  • Maintain accurate training records, attendance, and progress documentation.
  • Partner with division leadership to identify training needs for both current and future employees.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Teach curriculum that aligns with current electrical codes and industry standards.
  • Effectively manage classroom environments and promote student engagement and success.
  • Maintain consistency and quality across training cycles to ensure graduates return to their divisions prepared to contribute immediately.
  • Develop, organize, and deliver specialty training courses based on company needs and industry trends.
  • Create, revise, and update training materials to reflect code changes, new technologies, and evolving business requirements.
  • Travel periodically to local divisions, training sites, and company locations as needed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
