About The Position

Performs maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting of electrical systems by applying electrical principles. This role involves repairing and replacing defective parts in controllers, switchboards, switches, conductors, and other electrical fixtures. It also includes installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical components of machinery and equipment, such as transformers, generators, exciters, and hydraulic and pneumatic devices. The technician will perform preventive repair and maintenance of field electrical systems, devices, equipment, and components. Additionally, the role requires testing solid state circuitry to find defective parts in digital and analog equipment, specifically cell prox circuits for frequency and 4-20 milliamp control circuits. The technician will also install enhancements and major upgrades to electrical subsystems, design and modify motor power control equipment circuits, and read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Responsibilities include preparing schedules, coordinating activities with other divisions and sections, and planning and laying out work orders or work from instructions using sketches, blueprints, and drawings. Ensuring the accuracy and completion of all preventive maintenance duties is crucial. The role also emphasizes initiative in improving parts management to balance availability, cost, and stock levels, promoting operations in a safe, efficient, and professional manner, and identifying solutions to unique and complex problems.

Requirements

Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
Able to lift 65 lbs from floor to shoulder level occasionally.
Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 100 lbs.
Requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting, carrying, and reaching or handling with arms, hands and fingers.
Also crawling and working in narrow spaces.
Requires frequent repetitive movements, i.e. hammering, turning wrenches, or used screwdrivers.
Manual dexterity sufficient to work with fingers.
Normal vision with or without corrective lenses.
Exposed to cold, heat, noise mechanical/electrical fume or odor.
Will be required on occasion to work more than 8 hours on one shift.
