About The Position

Electrical Technician will be responsible to assemble and wire Industrial control panels, and to help achieve production standards that make the ModCenter Solutions group a valuable and profitable business unit. This position is based in our ModCenter and requires strict adherence to all safety protocols outlined in our safety handbook, as well as compliance with any newly implemented safety regulations. The employee is required to have the ability to stand, walk for moderately long distances, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) weight up to 50lbs. Ability to use a keyboard and type proficiently. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Requirements

  • Have a full working knowledge of reading electrical wiring elementary diagrams and schematics.
  • Have a full working knowledge of laying out Control Panel mounting plates and populating same.
  • Have a full working knowledge of complete electrical wiring of Industrial control Panel.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Experience with electrical Drawings and Schematics.
  • Experience or training with manufacturing processes, which require the use of Hand tools, power tools and instruments such as, digital multimeter, oscilloscope, and other electronic test/measurement devices.
  • Requires knowledge of shop math, involving decimals, fractions, and their application.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, job orders, and tools instructions for product specifications.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 or more years work in a Control Panel Shop or electrical construction.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of UL508A, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and wire Industrial control panels.
  • Achieve production standards.
  • Read electrical wiring elementary diagrams and schematics.
  • Read NEMA and DIN standard electrical diagrams and translate knowledge to the proper assembly and wiring of Industrial control Panel.
  • Lay out Control Panel mounting plates and populate same.
  • Mount components, wireway, and din rail on mounting plate.
  • Apply Terminal markers, Cable label markers, and Gravoply component labels on mounting plate.
  • Complete ModCenter Assembly Quality Report.
  • Package all cutsheet documentation with components for Customer.
  • Complete electrical wiring of Industrial control Panel.
  • Use wire cutting, stripping, and crimping tools.
  • Determine correct color and gauge of wire per electrical drawing.
  • Apply wire marks to both ends of a wire.
  • Use Pneumatic/Electrical torque adjustable/limited screw drivers.
  • Inspect wired assembly.
  • Report Non-conformances.
  • Maintain Schaedler/YESCO safety procedures for Assembly area of ModCenter solutions Group.
  • Assist/backup assemblers in machine shop with the Steinhauer CNC, when required.
  • Diagnose/Troubleshoot electrical issues with Industrial control Panel Assemblies.
  • Maintain tools in workstation and ensure they are functional.
  • Clean benches and workspace around the machine daily.
  • Perform all daily/weekly/monthly maintenance.
  • Report broken hand tools/power tools to supervisor.
  • Update system with status of orders.
  • Prepare final documents for finished jobs prior to shipping.
  • Package and prepare completed orders for shipment.
