About The Position

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and performing electrical and mechanical maintenance on various equipment including LMFs, VTDs, Caster, and the Mold Segment Shop. This role involves troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, identifying and implementing changes or upgrades to improve process productivity and reliability, and integrating knowledge of the steel making process to enhance overall operations. The technician will also perform requested tasks to ensure uninterrupted operations.

  • Knowledge of medium and low voltage electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, breakers and power distribution systems, motors, motor control equipment, instrumentation, PLCs and VFDs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe work environment.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance of LMFs, VTDs, Caster, Mold Segment Shop, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues for LMFs, VTDs, Caster, Mold Segment Shop, and related equipment.
  • Identify, design, and implement changes/upgrades which will increase the productivity or reliability of the process.
  • Understand the steel making process and integrate this knowledge to improve productivity, quality, and reliability.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical tasks requested by crew, supervisor, or management that ensure uninterrupted operations.
