About The Position

This role is responsible for performing electrical and mechanical maintenance on various equipment including LMFs, VTDs, Caster, and the Mold Segment Shop. The technician will troubleshoot issues, identify and implement improvements to increase productivity and reliability, and ensure uninterrupted operations by performing requested tasks. A strong understanding of the steel making process is beneficial for integrating knowledge to improve productivity, quality, and reliability.

  • Ability to multi-task & prioritize work assignments with production needs
  • Knowledge of medium and low voltage electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, breakers and power distribution systems, motors, motor control equipment, instrumentation, PLCs and VFDs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe work environment.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance of LMFs, VTDs, Caster, Mold Segment Shop, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues for LMFs, VTDs, Caster, Mold Segment Shop, and related equipment.
  • Identify, design, and implement changes/upgrades which will increase the productivity or reliability of the process.
  • Understand the steel making process and integrate this knowledge to improve productivity, quality, and reliability.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical tasks requested by crew, supervisor, or management that ensure uninterrupted operations.
