About The Position

X-Bow Systems is seeking a skilled Launch Vehicle Electrical Technician with at least 5 years of experience to support the integration, assembly, test, and operation of launch vehicle electrical subsystems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cable manufacturing, electrical ground support equipment fabrication, avionics integration, and system-level testing in both laboratory and launch range environments.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related technical field, OR equivalent technical training and experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in electrical/electronics assembly, integration, and testing
  • Proficiency in cable and wire harness manufacturing techniques including crimping, soldering, and connector assembly
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturing drawings
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Willingness to support launch operations, which may require travel and non-standard work hours

Nice To Haves

  • NASA-STD-8739.4 certification (Workmanship Standard for Crimping, Interconnecting Cables, Harnesses, and Wiring)
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (Requirements for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies)
  • Experience with aerospace or launch vehicle electrical systems
  • Hands-on experience with the following systems: Flight Computers and avionics, Battery systems and power management, Ordnance initiation circuits and Flight Termination Systems (FTS), Telemetry and RF systems
  • Experience operating in Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) laboratory environments
  • Familiarity with Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) design and operation
  • Experience with launch range operations and flight safety requirements
  • Proficiency with CAD tools for electrical design (SolidWorks Electrical or similar)
  • Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly and rework experience

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and assemble cable harnesses and wire assemblies to engineering specifications and industry workmanship standards
  • Integrate Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) for launch vehicle testing and operations
  • Integrate avionics systems including flight computers, power management systems, batteries, telemetry systems, and ordnance initiation circuits
  • Support functional testing and validation of electrical systems and subsystems
  • Support Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) laboratory operations and testing activities
  • Support system-level integration and checkout of launch vehicle electrical systems
  • Support launch range integration, test, and flight operations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues during integration and test activities
  • Support development and management of assembly, integration, and test procedures
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to implement design changes and improvements
  • Ensure all work meets applicable workmanship standards and quality requirements
