About The Position

Tempel, a Worthington Steel company, is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to keep our advanced production systems running at peak performance. You’ll gain hands-on experience with PLCs and automation while growing your career in a stable, safety-focused environment that promotes from within. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician with strong PLC skills to support our 1st Shift operations. This individual will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems to ensure optimal production efficiency and safety. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 10 or more years of electrical maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing setting
  • Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming experience
  • Knowledge of AC/DC motor drives, SLC controllers, and motor control circuits
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and test results
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical safety practices

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman certification or equivalent
  • Experience with mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatic equipment
  • Proficiency with electrical testing instruments and troubleshooting methods
  • Basic computer and intermediate math skills

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on stamping presses, annealing furnaces, and related manufacturing equipment
  • Modify and maintain PLC and HMI programs
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and electrical systems
  • Read and interpret ladder logic, blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams
  • Support continuous improvement and equipment upgrade projects
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and system data
  • Assist in installation and calibration of new equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
